Something Special

“if you can’t say it in one page,

then it isn’t worth saying;” he says;

“anything more than one page is a waste!”

I tend to agree,

but sometimes you need just

a little bit more,

sometimes there are loose ends,

overflow,

excess;

sometimes one page

just isn’t enough;

the problem with most is an

ill conceived notion that quantity

is what counts,

when just the opposite is true,

less is more,

passion the key,

with just a dash of mystery thrown in;

one word with clarity and conviction

is worth a dozen without;

start with a mound of meat,

then cut and chop until

only the bone is left;

leave them thinking about meat

never tasted;

then you got something special.
