“Enter through the narrow gate. For
wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many
enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life,
and only a few find it. “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in
sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you
will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from
thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad
fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good
fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the
fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” Matthew
7:13-20
lost in this sea of
darkness,
sentenced
to die
from
the day we are born,
guilty
as charged,
eternally
separated,
forever
gone;
the dreams of men
are
like birds on the wind,
shifting
and rearranging,
living
and dying,
here
today,
gone
tomorrow;
there are many roads in
life,
leading
to far away,
unknown
destinations,
creating
their own specific
brand
of justification,
finding
their own particular
version
of truth,
but
no matter how many
truths
we create,
no
matter how many different ways
we
want to believe;
there is only one truth,
there
is only one way,
there
is only one road;
it does not bend
to
fit our ideas or desires,
it
does not go in the direction
we
demand it to go,
it
is final,
it
is absolute;
that is how truth works;
enter through the
narrow gate,
for
wide is the gate and broad is the road
that
leads to destruction,
and
many enter through it,
but
small is the gate and narrow the road
that
leads to life,
and
only a few find it.
