America
America, what have you become? Once you stood for something proud, something
honorable. What are you now? You fool yourself, like a child who refuses to
accept the truth. Once you cared, genuinely cared, about the weak, the scared,
the lonely. Now you only pretend, and put on false faces of sorrow. Nothing but
a show, a sad and tired show. You have forgotten, you have lost, that which
made you strong. In your greed, and in your mad rush to have it all, you have
forgotten. Those who made you strong, grow weak, while you demand more and
more. Ah America, your plains still abound, in wondrous beauty, but your heart
grows sick, from the evil that grows within it. Your children grow tired, they
see the dream fade, they have lost sight of tomorrow. You create a society of
elitist, where only the privileged may belong. You cast your sons and
daughters, into the roles of maid and servant, to do thy master’s bidding,
while breeding little servants, for future master callings. And you do not even
see, for you have become a nation of computer terminals and managers, afraid to
do that which would require honest labor, that which would mean getting sweaty
and dirty. You look down on all that do as if they were beneath you, or somehow
simple, compared to you in all your educated glory. Your mighty education will
mean nothing when the dollar has lost all value, for then a man will be judged
by his skill, and his ability to work with his hands. Who shall pity whom then?
Your leaders sit on their thrones, in isolation, unaware, uninvolved, and speak
of high and noble causes, and kill a criminal or two, and cry out, see what we
are doing? We’ll protect you, we’ll save you, just give us the power to do so.
And those who have the most to fear, give it to them, gladly, in exchange for
security, from peasants and beggars, and thieves who are their lost brothers
and sisters, reduced to lives of survival in this land of plenty. For existence
is all that matters, in a plastic world, where feelings are just a touch of a
computer’s keyboard, and thought is only what the TV says it is, and death is
only a video game away. Wake up America, look at the truth, not the reality
given to you, not the lies fed to you, by those who control your minds, and those
who control your souls.
